Description
In Washington, like all states in the U.S., employers are not required to provide employees with vacation leave, either paid or unpaid. Paid leave for holidays or vacation are considered benefits that may be paid by the employer if there is a policy or other form of agreement in place. Such benefits are entirely voluntary -- there are no state or federal laws requiring employers to provide such benefits (but, if an employer voluntarily chooses to provide such benefits, it must comply with the terms of its established policy or employment contract).
Taxes are an important part of our practice at Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson. Many of our attorneys have advanced degrees in taxation (LL.M.), which allow them to assist with complex tax planning related to entity structuring, estate planning, tax defense for individuals and companies, and assistance with compliance and related issues. We have extensive experience in federal, state, and local taxes, including representation of clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the Washington Department of Revenue, Department of Labor and Industries, and Department of Employment Security.
SAMS was founded in 1985 by Sally Nordstrom. Since its inception, SAMS has raised more than $4 million to fund selected exhibits, arts education, museum publications, installations and SAM’s capital campaign. SAMS organizes two annual benefit events: Gardens of Art and the Nordstrom Designer Preview. Among many other programs, SAMS has generously supported transportation services for school children to ensure all classrooms can visit SAM.
