Description

Marley Carroll is known among his peers as “the producer’s producer,” and his time is coming. A classically trained pianist and percussionist, but never content to color inside the lines, he became the youngest ever to win the title of Best Scratch DJ for his home state of North Carolina - at 17. In the ten years since, he has has never stopped pushing, undergoing a full transformation into a veteran electronic producer, vocalist, and live performer. His self-produced 2007 debut album Melanaster was the result of meticulous bedroom alchemy, recalling a lost Radiohead LP submerged in ten feet of saltwater. The album’s sound is found somewhere between the beautiful haze of early Nineties shoegaze rock (My Bloody Valentine) and early 2000’s IDM (Autechre, Squarepusher). Smeared, melancholy pop songs tethered to abstract electronic rhythms, what NPR called “gorgeously subdued glitch-pop.” In 2011, Carroll truly came into his own as a producer and live performer. He developed a solo PA set to bring a more raw and improvisatory vision of his music to live audiences, combining vocals, turntables, hardware controllers, and live Moog synth.

After 5 years, 400+ shows, and four award-winning albums, New Jersey-based 21 year-old singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford is set to release his 5th. Its Only Change was recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo) and features performances from Jerry Roe (K.D. Lang), David Labruyere (John Mayer) and Aubrey Freed (Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow).

Founded in early 2011 as a four-piece with the intention of just playing the occasional show belting out hard hitting street punk, they soon grew into a five-piece playing regular shows in their hometown of Atlanta and throughout the Southeast. DDC delivers a special blend of street punk that includes elements of pop punk, Oi!, and hardcore.

LOSE CONTROL was founded in Hermosa Beach, California by Jeff Nisen and A.J. Bartholomew in the Fall of 2011. With a shared love for heavy metal music, Nisen and Bartholomew began playing music together at a young age in middle school, and while Nisen went on to form the band Sand Section and Bartholomew formed Allura, destiny did eventually reach down her guiding hand and steered them back in each other's direction in 2010. At that point it was painfully evident that both their chemistry and "kick ass" factor were undeniable and they soon began writing songs together. In the Fall of 2011, Nisen and Bartholomew teamed up with drummer/producer Mike Sutherland and began work on their self titled debut, Lose Control EP, which was released in June of 2012. They enlisted Bret Bollinger from Pepper and Andre Davis from Tomorrow's Bad Seeds to share time on the bass guitar in the studio and ultimately birthed a completely new heavy metal sound. The bass has since been taken over by Mitch Davis who is also a key songwriter and vocalist for the group. In the Fall of 2013 Patrick Salmon, formerly of Tomorrows Bad Seeds, became the band's full-time drummer.
