About Us L & W Engineering assigns high value to our customer and supplier relationships, and diligently seeks to continuously improve product quality and service to our customers while maintaining an excellent work environment for our employees. Our most valued asset, our employees, are given top priority by encouraging family values and building significant relationships. History L & W Engineering was established in 1975 by Lloyd Bontrager (father) and Wilbur Bontrager (son). A steel and aluminum fabricator, the company primarily serves the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries. From humble beginnings the company began manufacturing operations on the Bontrager home farm utilizing two chicken houses and a barn for its first thirteen years of existence. In 1988, the business was relocated just south of Middlebury in the newly formed MDC Industrial Park, becoming the Park's anchor business. After several additional land acquisitions and the construction of additional space, the Company now operates on two shifts, maintaining three production facilities with over 136,000 square feet of manufacturing space on over 17 acres of land.
