In 1954, Joe LaForce, in partnership, bought a hardware supply business in downtown Green Bay. Three years later, Joe bought out the partnership and formed LaForce Builder's Supply. During the next 12 years, LaForce Builder's Supply expanded it's product line to include commercial hollow metal frames. By 1969, it became apparent that in order to sell with consistent quality and make timely deliveries, LaForce would need an in-house door & frame production capability. Fortunately, well-timed acquisitions of bending and cutting machines provided LaForce with the necessary assets to manufacture it's own line of innovative custom frames. Modern machinery including computerized press brakes, a turret punch, and larger shear machines have since been purchased and have revolutionized much of the close tolerance work. After analyzing various base metals, top quality corrosion resistant galvanneal was selected as a standard for all LaForce frames. Doors and frames now receive a high quality primer application, adding to corrosion resistance and the life of the product.Shortly after the manufacturing process was first expanded, LaForce landed it's first job in the Chicago area and has been an active and growing presence there ever since. In 1989, sales offices were established in both Milwaukee and Chicago. Today these offices are located in Vernon Hills, IL (Chicago area) and Menomonee Falls, WI (Milwaukee area). Soon after we established our 3rd office located in Madison, WI. On January 1, 2001, LaForce Inc. purchased ALCO Building Products, located in Cincinnati, OH, and is now our 4th branch office. Each location offers expanded office and shop space as well as expanded inventory storage.LaForce provides commercial doors, frames, hardware and building specialties throughout the central United States, and beyond. LaForce also offers a variety of top-end residential hardware. We have residential showrooms located in Green Bay, WI, Madison, WI and Vernon Hills (Chicago), IL and on the world-wide web.
