Landscape Alaska has developed an arsenal of specialty products that really work in Southeast Alaska. Out of all the products that are available to buy, we have found just a few that really make a difference. Our criteria for featuring a product are these: it must do no harm, it must be cost-efficient, and it must solve a common problem. Here are some examples: -Native peat soil that allows Japanese maples and rhododendrons to grow and thrive in gardens close to the glacier. -Native Alaskan grasses we use for our lawn mix. -Iron sulfate for moss control in the lawns, both quick acting liquid and slower solid forms. -Time-release fertilizer packets that provide years of background nutrition for the plants.
