Since it’s founding in 1945 by WWII veteran Marine pilot George Lane, Lane Aviation has evolved and grown in many ways, but always with the goal of providing superior service to its customers. Today, Lane Aviation President Grant Lane continues his father’s legacy, focusing on responsiveness and performance to meet the needs of the agricultural aircraft community. Immersed in the business since childhood, and as an ag plane pilot himself, Grant Lane has a keen understanding that his company’s success comes from helping customers be successful.Fueled by this belief, Lane Aviation’s growth resulted from finding better ways to serve ag operators with innovative products and services. To this end, Lane Aviation developed the first dry fertilizer spreader (now mass-produced by Transland), a Pratt & Whitney turbine conversion on the Ayres Thrush, a popular electric pump brake, and an air-conditioning system for 400 and 500 series turbine Air Tractor aircraft.Lane Aviation is the oldest and one of the most successful dealers of the world’s leading ag aircraft: Air Tractor. Like the old adage, “Winners attract winners,” Lane Aviation’s relationship with Air Tractor has been one of respect and mutual service toward a common goal.
