Description

John first developed his passion for heavy equipment working on his uncle’s farm in Winchester, Kansas. During this time with his uncle is where he developed his work ethic and underlying principals, which were the foundation of Larkin Excavating. John has been operating heavy equipment since he was twelve years old and continues to operate equipment when his time permits and it is necessary for the successful completion of a job. With the acquisition of his first loader, lowboy, and dump truck John founded Larkin Excavating in 1989. Based in Lansing, Kansas; Larkin is involved in a variety of projects throughout Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. In the early days John primarily focused on working with his family in the residential housing business. From a modest beginning as a one man operation, John’s drive and vision has ensured the continued growth of Larkin Excavating, which currently employs over 100 employees and is comprised of an extensive fleet of equipment. As a result of steady and continued growth over the last 20 years Larkin Excavating has evolved into a vibrant and dynamic excavating company generating revenues in excess of $25 million dollars per year. John is married to his wife Deana and they have two children Jadan and Devin and reside in Leavenworth.
