Description

Landscape architecture and construction come naturally to owner Steve Larsen, with close to two decades experience in the industry. With his hands-on approach, Larsen often works alongside project masons, carpenters, electricians and planting crews, as well as designing projects and managing the business. With degrees in engineering and science, graduate work in business, landscape design and horticulture, Larsen blends the practical aspects of business with his hallmark creative vision. Before his love of the outdoors and his desire to create something tangible brought him to the industry he now claims as his own, Larsen spent most of the 1980s with a major Wall Street investment bank, analyzing and underwriting major corporate deals. A community activist as well, Larsen coaches youth sports, is involved in PTAs and community associations while attending to his personal creative outlet of more than four decades - playing great music. A NARI Certified Remodeler, Steve Larsen and Larsen Design/Build uphold the highest levels of ethical standards in the industry. A Class "A" Contractor (License #2705060324A BLD), Larsen Design/Build ensures that projects will be implemented with the best and latest construction and horticultural knowledge available. Larsen Design/Build and Steve Larsen have been members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Metro DC chapter since 1992. Steve served on the NARI Metro DC Board for 10 years and was its President in 2004. Larsen Design/Build has won the Chrysalis "Award for Remodeling Excellence" and several coveted NARI CoTY (Contractor of the Year) awards. Steve Larsen is also the winner of the Grand Environmental Award presented by the American Landscape Contractors Association (ALCA).
