Larsen Engineering is a structural engineering and consulting firm established in 1991 in Sausalito, California. Henry Larsen, principal engineer, has worked in the engineering and construction business for over 30 years. Our clients include architects, contractors, developers and homeowners. We have been involved in over 1,000 projects in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Structural elements must be designed so that as a system, the structure can resist all loads. We provide seismic analysis and design for new construction and seismic retrofits for existing structures. Typical seismic features are: fastening of structure to foundation, plywood shear walls or welded steel bracing frames for stability, and many types of steel rods, anchors and straps that couple strength with ductility.

Our work is primarily structural engineering for residential and commercial construction. We are located in Marin County and are experienced in working with city and county agencies. As a supporter of the green movement in architecture and construction, we work with building framing systems primarily of wood, the most renewable of the commonly used building products.
