In the past four decades of their existence Kyocera has developed a line of desktop and office printers and multifunction printers. So they too make no single purpose copier machines. Their printers and multifunction machines have coping capability built in. The only difference is whether a given model sorts, collates, staples and copy speed measured as per page speed. Kyocera North American operations has had a major effect on their success. They established their first US sales office in 1969. It was a two-person operation in the Silicon Valley's growing semiconductor industry. Their US operations have since expanded to more than 5,000 employees that manufacture and sale of a wide range of products.

Panasonic North America, based in Secaucus, NJ, is a subsidiary of Osaka a Japan-based Corporation and the hub of all it does in the U.S. and Canada including printers and copiers the like. Osaka corporation has been around for over 50 years, Panasonic has produced US consumer products with innovations for the home and business. Panasonic has a full line of printers and multifunction machines. Panasonic printers and multifunction machines are not widely used by business but they are a well known brand in the consumer electronics so they have made an inroads into the business market.
