Description

Desneiges “Dee” Young, LPC, joined Legacy in April of 2012. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Houston, and then went on to receive her Masters of Educational Psychology, Professional Counseling Track, degree from the same institution. Prior to joining Legacy, Young worked as a Master’s Practicum Counseling Student at Legacy. While here, she has gained professional experience in providing therapeutic services to families, children and adolescents, adults, and the LBGT community. Young enjoys working with adults in an individual setting.

Legacy Community Health Services is a full-service, Federally Qualified Community Health Center that provides comprehensive, primary health care services to all Houstonians in a culturally sensitive, judgment-free, and confidential environment. Legacy has specialized in HIV/AIDS testing, education, treatment, and social services since the early 1980s. We also provide care for other chronic health conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.

Erica Avery, LCSW-S, joined the Legacy Behavioral Health Department in 2011. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in the state of Texas. She earned her Master of Social Work at Boston College. Prior to joining Legacy, Avery worked as a Psychotherapist at Baylor College of Medicine and at a Harris County Hospital District Outpatient School-Based Clinic. She also worked as a Therapist for the Insight Program at Harris County Hospital District, in collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas- Austin.

Annette Morales-Tymczak, LPC, joined Legacy in September of 2012. She earned her undergraduate degree at St. Mary’s University and went on to earn her master’s degree at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Prior to joining Legacy, Morales-Tymczak served children and families at DePelchin Children’s Center. She has spent her career providing mental health services in a variety of settings. While working with Hurricane Ike survivors, she was selected as an outstanding employee and featured in Texas P.R.I.D.E. magazine. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

1988 The Assistance Fund was founded to provide financial assistance to HIV-positive persons who could not afford new and increasingly expensive medications.
