Set in the foothills of the majestic Adirondack Mountains, the County of Lewis is a hard working, industrious community. Located at the heart of this community is the village of Lowville, the county seat. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the village is the health care center of the county, Lewis County General Hospital and Residential Health Care Facility (LCGH/RHCF). Lewis County is home to over 27,000 residents whose main occupation is agricultural. It is also home to major manufacturing corporations such as Kraft Food, AMF Bowling, Otis Technology Incorporated, Fibermark Incorporated, and Climax Manufacturing. With over 100 highly skilled physicians providing care in various specialties, Lewis County General Hospital has become the facility of choice for a growing number of residents in the tri-county area of the North Country. Our total service area is currently 32,000 North Country residents and increases every year.
