ABOUT US LifeCare (Overview) • Mission • Team • History • Community ABOUT US October 1, 2007, Roseau Area Hospital & Homes, Incorporated changed its corporate name to LifeCare Medical Center. The Board of Directors made a decision to change the name of our local hospital and health care system because of their desire to embrace the communities it serves. Community input and marketing research supported the Board ’s vision and a new name and logo was the result. All services including Home Care, Hospice, Public Health, Rehabilitation Services, and both of our nursing homes now display the new LifeCare name. LifeCare Medical Center gives the entire community the feeling of ownership in their health care organization in addition to representing the caring staff and the population that it serves. Welcome to the dawn of the next generation of healthcare, welcome to LifeCare Medical Center! At LifeCare, we believe it is a privilege to serve the health care needs of the people of northern Minnesota, and we take pride in saying we have stayed current with the advances of modern medicine. Our surgery department performs nearly 500 surgeries per year, and our Special Care Unit includes the latest in patient-monitoring equipment. Our full line of on-site diagnostic services includes ultrasound, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and x-ray capabilities, plus a complete lab that allows our physicians access to fast, accurate test results. Our rehabilitation services department provides physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy at several locations throughout the county. Endoscopic procedures, a successful cardiac rehab program, and a top-or-the-line ambulance service are just a few more examples of our commitment to keeping technology at the forefront of care. We take pride in keeping our facilities modern. Our birthing center, where approximately 200 babies are born each year, has a warm home-like atmosphere. At LifeCare most of our hospital patients enjoy private rooms. We are also extremely proud of our behavior health, long term care, home care, hospice and all of the other services that we provide right here close to home for the people of our community.
