Description

Kara Felmlee has been training, teaching and performing dance for over 18 years. She has studied extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, character & modern techniques (with an emphasis on the classic techniques of Lester Horton and Martha Graham). Receiving most of her training in Denver, CO., she has studied dance at Denver Contemporary Dance, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance School, Colorado Ballet and the Denver Dance Center. Kara’s professional experience began at The Denver Contemporary Dance Theatre under the direction of the late Thomas Dixon. As an ensemble dancer for two seasons, she performed in many productions and various events throughout Colorado. In addition, Kara has performed with many other Dance Companies & groups throughout her career. She worked as class demonstrator for her mentor, Franca Telesio’s Graham technique class (held at Cleo Parker Dance). Kara has been fortunate to study with many world renowned choreographers and teachers; Gary Abbot, Milton Myers, Franca Telesio, Debra Mercer, Susan Richardson, the late Roger Turner and the late Leni Wylliams.

Students should have good sportsmanship and competition attitudes towards one another. Live 2 Dance has won the Sportsmanship Award before…let’s do it again!!! Dancers need to concentrate on improving their OWN capabilities and growing as dancers. As we practice, travel to competitions, meet new friends and grow together let us remember to show respect for ourselves and for others by always being supportive of our fellow dancers, parents and teachers. Teams whose members support one another always stand out as leaders. We all want to bring out the best in our student’s (child’s) talents. In turn, we build their self-image and develop perseverance skills. Having the feeling of achievement gives students the confidence to attack other challenges in the future. This feeling of accomplishment alone is worth more than any trophy or medal! We need to measure our achievements according to ourselves and not others. Live 2 Dance is dedicated to making the Starz Performing Company a positive experience for all.

Company is a continuous growing experience in which all dancers must be constantly striving for improvement and excellence. It is not a point at which the dancer finally reaches a goal and assumes that he/she no longer has to invest time and effort in order to keep that goal.

Live 2 Dance LLC is owned and operated by Angela Hartley and was established in July of 2007. The beliefs and goals of Live 2 Dance are to offer the opportunity for any child or adult who wants to learn to dance. We also want to teach them the love for and respect for the arts, as well as poise and self-confidence. We offer a full range of classes for students of all ages and levels, from preschool through adults, from beginner to advanced dancers. Dance training not only improves coordination and physical strength, it strengthens discipline which in turn carries over to all areas in a person’s life. Thank you for your interest in our program.
