It all started two decades ago with a straightforward goal – to help more students gain access to funds to pay for college.In the 1980's, vast numbers of college-bound students were not eligible for financial aid or federal student loan programs because their family incomes were just too high. However, those same families lacked adequate financial resources to pay for college on their own.
