My father, Wendell P. Lockard, started our business in 1951. He began as a mason with one employee and quickly became a major contractor in the commercial construction industry. I began working for the company in 1969. Through the ‘60s and ‘70s we implemented the design/build concept and our focus shifted to development. We continued to grow significantly through the ‘80s and ‘90s. Lockard Companies entered the new millennium as a diversified company with many areas of expertise.
