Al Besse – Principal Al is a founder and portfolio manager for the firm, and serves as Logan Capital's President. As a member of the investment team he is responsible for the firm’s technical analysis effort. Prior to joining Logan Capital, Al was a Vice President at First Fidelity Bank serving as co-manager of the Charitable Equity Fund. During his decade at the bank, he played a key role in the formation and development of First Fidelity's $2 billion Charitable Funds Management unit. In 1991 he was named as the bank’s Institutional Investment Professional of the Year. Al is a graduate of Haverford College (BA) and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA). Stephen S. Lee – Principal Stephen is a founding partner of Logan Capital Management, Incorporated As a Managing Director of the firm he oversees portfolios for institutional and private clients. During his 17 years in the investment management industry, Stephen has developed expertise in working with charitable foundations, mutual insurance companies, pension funds and high net worth private investors, designing investment strategies specifically suited to meet each client’s investment goals. As a member of Logan’s Growth investment team, Stephen has an active role in the security selection for the firm’s Large Cap Growth and Mid-to-Large Cap Growth portfolios. In addition to his investment roles, Stephen is the Treasurer and Chief Compliance Officer of Logan Capital and head of information technology. Earlier, he served as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Stephen’s involvement in the community includes serving on several Investment Committees and Foundation Boards, including the Investment Committee of The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. He is also a trustee of The Gladwyne Montessori School. Stephen gradated from Lehigh University in 1990 with a B.S. in Accounting. He holds NASD Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. Before founding Logan Capital with his partners in 1993 Stephen was with Mercer Capital Management and was a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch. Dana H. Stewardson – Principal Dana is a founder, portfolio manager and a member of the investment team for the firm. He has been in the investment business for twenty years and has served his clients as a portfolio manager for several investment firms including Mercer Capital Management, Edward C. Rorer & Company and Kidder, Peabody & Company Dana is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University (BA) and is a member of The Financial Analysts of Philadelphia. David Patrick Harrison 1937 - 2009 David was a Founding Principal of Logan Capital Management, Incorporated and served as the firm’s Chairman. Far more than a respected and trusted advisor, David was also a mentor and friend to the many people whose lives he touched in his forty-plus years in the investment business. David’s stamina, diligence and competitiveness served him well both in and out of the office and his successes were not only in the financial markets. He was a national and world record holding Master swimmer in numerous events, most recently competing in the Maui Channel Swim in September 2008. David brought intelligence, wisdom, diplomacy and humor to his work; it was a pleasure and a privilege to work with him. He truly loved all aspects of his work – investments, clients and coworkers – and he often reminded us that he never wanted to retire. It is a great loss to many that David is gone so soon.
