Description

Baylor University's Institute for Family Business recognizes firms whose families demonstrate a commitment to each other and to business continuity through this awards program. To apply a firm must be headquartered in Texas and be owned and operated by different generations of a family. The entries are judged on the following criteria: Family Involvement, Community and Industry Involvement and Business Success. Recipients are chosen by a panel of six judges, who all have experience in entrepreneurship and family business.

Longview Glass continues to be a leader in the glass industry by continually updating our product lines and being innovative in the use of those products. We regularly attend industry trade shows and visit supplier and manufacturing plants. Our management team must have a thorough understanding of our products and services, but also understand our vendors ability to perform. Maximizing the strengths and capabilities of our vendors allows us to be more efficient and effective.

Longview Glass/Harrison County Glass provide commercial and residential glass installation and service for northeast Texas. The commercial division works with local and national general contractors, as well as architects, to provide glass storefronts, window walls, slope walls, curtain walls, heavy glass systems, skylight systems, bullet resistant and custom glass needs, for construction projects of all sizes.

Longview Glass, LLC owned by Bruce Forbes and Scott Forbes, was awarded the 2008 Texas Family Business of the Year® "Family Values Award" by Baylor University. The "Family Values Award" is given to the successful family business that has shown commitment to family values by nurturing healthy relationships and stability over successive generations.
