Overview Lucent Venture Partners is the venture capital subsidiary of Lucent Technologies with offices in Murray Hill, New Jersey. Formed in 1998, the group invests in early-stage technology companies in high-growth communications areas such as optical, data and wireless networking, semiconductors, communications software, professional services and e-commerce.In early 2002, Lucent Technologies made the strategic decision to limit the activities of Lucent Venture Partners, in an effort to focus its resources on the internal developments that best serve its large service provider customers. As such, Lucent Venture Partners will no longer pursue new investments. Instead, a smaller team consisting of John Hanley, Managing General Partner, Marc Rappoport, Chief Financial Officer and Peter Rokkos, Vice President and Counsel, will focus on supporting the existing portfolio companies to maximize the return on Lucent's investment - both from a financial and strategic standpoint. This will include follow-on investments where warranted.
