I was born in Cuba and grew up in the United States right in the middle of all the politics between both countries. I'm blessed to have an incredible team of fellow filmmakers, talent and community that helped make this film the success it is today. Through the years I've learned that there truely are many sides to all stories. I personally don't condone or support the current Cuban government's system. At the same time, I don't condone or support the U.S. Governments failed 47 year old embargo policy against Cuba. All political leaders in both countries have failed to colaborate for the good of the citizens of the world. Ironcilly, Cuba's Love and Suicide is not a political film in anyway. The movie is a love story of Tomas (Kamar de los Reyes) who goes to Cuba and discovers the one thing between love and suicide. We've stated, and many audiences agree; this Cuba film is your, our, the U.S., the worlds, love letter to the people of Cuba.
