Dick Casey’s practice emphasizes advising clients on employment issues and methods of preventing and resolving disputes. Dick has been practicing law for over 35 years, beginning his career as a prosecutor for 10 years. Over the past 25 years, Dick’s practice has focused on civil cases. During that time, he has tried many cases to a jury. He has also had vast experience in negotiating and mediating the resolution of cases.

McLean Thompson Kerver focuses her law practice on estate planning, probates, trusts and administration, guardianship and conservatorship, as well as real estate, business planning, and litigation. McLean has experience not only drafting complex estate documents but also litigating estate cases and will contests before the South Dakota Circuit Courts and South Dakota Supreme Court. As part of her business planning practice, McLean has experience in forming new businesses, business purchases, asset purchases, buy-sell agreements and many other business transactions.

Jon Sogn is a senior litigation attorney in Lynn Jackson’s Sioux Falls office. Jon has a wide range of trial experience, trying cases to judges and juries in federal and state courts for more than 27 years. He focuses his practice on business disputes, injury and insurance litigation, and employment law cases. He has worked with lawyers from across the country to protect the rights of his clients.

Prior to relocating to South Dakota in 2012, Michelle had an active practice in Hartford, Connecticut focusing on insurance defense, insurance coverage, and surety and fidelity law. Michelle has experience in a variety of litigation disputes, including personal injury, property damage, unfair trade and insurance practices, construction defects, employment discrimination, fiduciary duties of trustees and personal representatives and fair debt collection actions. Michelle has provided insurance coverage opinions and litigated duty to defend and indemnity issues in both state and federal courts.

Jeff’s background in the hard sciences, including a Masters of Chemistry degree from the University of Nebraska, make him uniquely qualified to provide legal services in the areas of environmental law and oil and gas mineral rights. Jeff is able to utilize this background and provide unique insight when providing legal advice in these areas.
