MHM Services, Inc. (MHM) is headquartered in Vienna, Virginia and employs over 3,000 clinical, management, and support staff nationwide. Our success stems from our commitment to hiring the best and brightest professionals in the field and serving our client agencies with dynamic clinical programs and professional management systems. MHM was founded in 1981 to provide management of inpatient psychiatric units for medical-surgical hospitals. By the mid-1990s we had over 50 management contracts and operated six freestanding facilities of our own.

Described by FRONTLINE reporters as "the new asylums," correctional facilities are now the center of increasing media attention and public concern for the treatment of mentally ill inmates. Recently, the PBS news documentary program, FRONTLINE, focused on the treatment services dedicated to addressing this mounting problem by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC).

Our dedication to those we serve is first and foremost in everything we do. MHM’s focus is on the long-term relationship with our client, rather than the bottom line. Because of this, we have never abandoned a contract, nor have we ever been terminated for cause.

Our contracts are managed through a network of state and regional offices located throughout the United States. Each MHM contract is overseen by a team of program managers and clinical directors dedicated to meeting the unique challenges of the client agencies they serve. The long-standing relationships MHM has with its clients – many over ten years – is a testament to our high level of customer satisfaction.

Since 1994, MHM’s subsidiary FHS has built its reputation on providing forensic mental health services that address client and public safety needs - delivered on demand and on time.
