Founded in 1976, MSA planning + design is a women-owned architecture and design firm headquartered in Downtown San Francisco. We provide innovative and effective architectural, design and consulting services for a wide range of clients focusing on multiple sectors including retail, workplace, hospitality, healthcare, technology, education and environmental graphics. MSA is dedicated to providing design creativity and responsiveness based on a thorough understanding of our client’s culture, goals, and values. With over 25 years of experience in architecture, planning, and design of branded environments, sign programs, and related specialties, Kyle brings a broad portfolio and depth of experience to the leadership team. His role as Vice President has a focus on client development and management while enabling him to engage with the entire team in a collaborative manner in applying his dynamic perspective - gained through hands-on application of technical skills in a range of contexts - to all types of projects. Kyle has his degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He has served on the international Board of Directors of SEGD and is an active member of RDI, AIA, SPIRE, and ULI where he is an UrbanPlan instructor.

Curtis brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of architecture and design, including a wide range of project types and areas of design. His previous work includes hospitals, both technical and medical research facilities, and a variety of public, education, and high tech projects. Experienced with projects through all phases–from programming, planning and design through construction administration–Curtis is well versed in providing effective design on limited budgets in order to satisfy the aesthetic and programmatic needs of the client and user while maintaining a high quality design.

Susan joined MSA in 2006 and is a licensed architect. She brings over 20 years of architectural experience in retail, workplace and residential design. Her responsibilities include project management of major retail accounts, including scheduling, staffing, budgeting and client relations. Susan provides hands-on management of the entire team to ensure that the client’s needs are met. Previously, Susan worked as the Director of Corporate Architecture and Construction for Banana Republic Division.
