Mona Frey began her career in the food industry over 20 years ago. Her inauguration into the specialty food industry began at Wakefern Food Corporation. She worked in the general merchandise division in a position comparable to a retail grocery distributor representative. The next step was a position with a mass market brokerage covering New York metro local grocery and mass merchant accounts. In 1993, she made the switch to the natural food industry accepting a position at Natural Specialties, an East Coast Natural Food broker, where she directed the supermarket division. Frey then left the brokerage and began working as a regional sales manager for food manufacturers, the likes of which included Kashi, Clif Bar, and Oregon Chai. Working her way to Vice-President of Sales and Marketing and broadening her knowledge to include all company issues from cost of goods to consumer complaints. As a result, Frey ’s industry knowledge spans multiple classes of trade and categories. Mona Frey founded Moonstone Business Solutions in 2006 with the goal to offer support services to the manufacturing and brokerage community within the food industry. Using her experience, Moonstone strives to simplify the internal process, make information readily available and provide accurate and personalized services.
