The Main Street America Group was established in 1923 with the founding of National Grange Mutual Insurance Company (NGM), which was created to provide affordable insurance coverage to Grange Fraternity members in New Hampshire. In 2005, the mutual insurance company became NGM Insurance Company with the conversion to a mutual holding company structure and the formation of Main Street America Mutual Holdings Inc. The company also redomesticated to the State of Florida.
