Panther Trivia Current Trivia Question The 2007-08 school year marks an interesting milestone for the Nimisila Elementary School building. Any thoughts? Answer: 2007-08 marks the 25th school year since the final class "graduated" from Nimisila. The building closed following the "final bell" in 1982-83. At that time, the school housed grades 4, 5 and 6. Those 6th graders--later the MHS Class of 1989--included current Alumni Assn. president Todd Lindeman and his wife, Stacie (Calhoun) Lindeman, who is now a teacher at the Middle School. Mr. Robert Hauenstein, who passed away in 2007, was Nimisila's last principal. Nimisila Elementary opened in 1951. Nine years later the new Manchester High School was dedicated; and two years after that, in 1962, Nolley Elementary opened its doors---with the south wing addition completed in 1968. In the decades since Nimisila closed, the 5th and 6th graders have found a home at the Middle School (opened in 1974), which has added two modular classrooms behind the building. So there's a brief history of the Manchester school facilities! We appreciate superintendent Sam Reynolds furnishing the info. The district has certainly come a long way since the "Old High School" on Manchester Road housed every student, kindergarten thru 12th grade. Past Trivia Questions MHS Class of 2002 grad Mark Groza (6'3", 227lbs.) just finished his outstanding career at linebacker for The University of Akron, where he received a full athletic scholarship. There are at least six other Panther athletes who've earned full-ride scholarships to play Division 1-A college football. Can you name them?
