Description

Commercial name (according to EN 12440, addendum A) for a red serpentinite breccia of the Jurassic period. It has white calcite veins and purple-red to dark green rock fragments. The red color is caused by the changing of magnetite into hematite. In Italian, "rosso" = red. The variation of color in Rosso Levanto is very wide. A small sample is not representative. To get an impression, pictures of large slabs or of finished projects should be presented to the client.
