Maria's Bookshop, located in the heart of historic downtown Durango, Colorado, is a general interest, independently owned and operated bookstore committed to serving our community since 1984. We are staffed by 14 friendly, well-read, knowledgeable booksellers who love helping our customers find just the right book. The store was founded by Dusty Teal (a great Western name if ever there was one) and is now owned by Andrea Avantaggio and Peter Schertz. Peter and Andrea and their entire staff are dedicated to creating and maintaining a vital, thriving independent business that gives the people of Durango and the surrounding Four Corners region a comfortable, engaging, beautiful place to visit, relax and shop.
