Mr. Raj Sengupta is one of the Principals of Marine Design and Operations, Incorporated With a professional career of more than thirty years, he has extensive experience and skills in a broad range of activities. Among these are: Mr. Sengupta has been responsible for several new construction projects for containerships, reefer vessels, bulk carriers, chemical carriers, and car carriers. Mr. Sengupta's new construction experience ranges from negotiating technical and financial terms with the yard, selection of contractor, construction design plan approval, and on-site supervision including project management. Mr. Sengupta’s experience ranges from projects in U.S., to Korea, Japan, France, Norway, and Germany. Mr. Sengupta has been resident in several of these countries in excess of six months, and traveled numerous times on business visits. Mr. Sengupta has been involved in various capacities as owner's/charterer's representative for inspections and on-hire surveys of reefer ships, car carriers, and chemical tankers and ore carriers. Mr. Sengupta has also been responsible for projects involving retrofitting gantry cranes on containerships, and conversions of existing containerships to modify their cargo carrying capacity. Mr. Sengupta has been involved with several management consulting assignments. These include working for the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Telecommunications Company to evaluate the business plan and source selection process for new construction of one cable laying vessel, assist BT-NPR in privatization of Navieras de Puerto Rico. In the later project Mr. Sengupta was the primary technical consultant to the investment banking group, and was responsible for developing operating cost models, five year budgets, complete due diligence inspections and vessel economic evaluation. In the past Mr. Sengupta was employed by C.R. Cushing & Company, Incorporated and during that period of his employment he was involved in various projects of preliminary design, new construction and conversions. Prior to leaving C.R.
