The development of IntelliJet Marine, Inc. began when Jeff was considering the purchase of a manufacturer of aluminum jet river boats. As a result of his experience in the design and manufacture of small commercial hydroelectric systems, he observed several causes of hydraulic inefficiency in marine jet propulsion systems. Any such inefficiency is rigorously attacked in the hydroelectric business -- it translates into power not generated and revenue lost. In jet boats it translated into the need for a flatter hull, a rougher ride, a bigger motor, and a bigger fuel tank.

IntelliJet technology is first coming to market in the 300 hp to 400hp size, where we are interested in talking with motor manufacturers and boat manufacturers. The technology is directly scalable to smaller and larger sizes, which can all use the same computer controller.

The development of IntelliJet Marine, Inc. began when current president, Jeff Jordan, was considering the purchase of a manufacturer of aluminum jet river boats. Mr. Jordan had previously spent ten years in the design and manufacture of small commercial hydroelectric systems, during which time he observed several causes of hydraulic inefficiency in the marine jet propulsion systems.

The Variable Marine Jet provides the thrust to get a load up on plane in deep-V hull designs, which are well known to reduce shock by cutting into the oncoming wave. This allows the use of more stable, shock-reducing hull designs. IntelliJet Marine is interested in development relationships with boat manufacturers to develop boats with these advantages.
