Mark Thomas & Company is pleased to recognize our newest Professional Engineers and Licensed Land Surveyor. Tommy Cho, Thanh Nguyen, Adam Randolph, Michael Dale, Quynh Nguyen, Chris Briana, Chris Diano and Liz Rider recently passed their Professional Engineer examination. Brandon Benton recently passed his land surveyor examination. The Grant Line Road/Highway 99 Interchange Project was recognized as Transportation Project of the Year for a large Agency in the $50 to $100 million dollar category. Mark Thomas started on the project in the PSR/PR stage and carried it through final design and constructions staking. The project proposed to reconstruct and existing, low capacity interchange built in 1958 at Grant Line Road and Route 99 to current design standards due to growth in southeast Sacramento County. As a gateway interchange to the city numerous aesthetic features were included in the design. The Skyway and Wagstaff Road intersection in the Town of Paradise won Transportation Project of the Year for a small agency in the $500,000 to $3 Million category. This traffic signal/road reconstruction project was the largest public works contract ever awarded in the Town of Paradise. The project involved the widening and signalization of the intersection. In addition, improvements included providing for storm drainage to the nearby creek, improving pedestrian access and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), new pavement delineation, and pavement repair and resurfacing. Right of Way acquisition and utility coordination were also key elements.
