A cookie parade starting at City Hall kicked off a weekend of festivities. The 13 cookies (aka Marnee ’s team of advisors and employees) and a Cookie Mascot, all wearing fuchsia and orange boas, carrying innovative cookie art, followed a marching band, and joined in the musical fun with tambourines. As the cookies marched to their new home of Marnee ’s Cookies at 23 Elm Street, Bath, the community lined the streets to show their support while many even joined the parade fun. Marnee Robinson, Cookie Executive Officer, John Richardson, State Commissioner of Economic Development and William Giroux, City Manager, together cut the ribbon to welcome the Marnee ’s Cookie Bistro to downtown Bath. Marnee ’s Cookies has expanded from the original home kitchen facility to a 4,000 square foot cookie facility in downtown Bath, Maine. This expanded facility is both a cookie factory and cookie bistro. More cookie fun followed with a packed Open House, and a weekend of activities, all in celebration of the cookie. Hug a cookie day, create get a pink and orange milk moustache, create cookie art and get your picture with the cookie mascot. Two cookie contests yielded two cookie winners. Marsha Conover was the lucky winner of the Win a Marnee ’s Cookie Basket. And Anita Ruff provided the winning Name for our Cookie Mascot contest.
