Description

Tom Marsico is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Marsico Capital Management, LLC ("Marsico Capital"), which has served as the investment adviser to the Marsico Funds since 1997. Tom sets Marsico Capital's overall research and investment strategy and is the co-manager of the Marsico Focus Fund, the Marsico Growth Fund, and the Marsico Global Fund. He has over 25 years of experience as a securities analyst and a portfolio manager. Tom's extensive background in rigorous securities analysis led him to recruit and train Marsico Capital's multitalented investment team. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado and holds an MBA from the University of Denver. Cory Gilchrist, Chartered Financial Analyst, is the portfolio manager of the Marsico 21st Century Fund and a co-manager of the Marsico Global Fund. Prior to joining Marsico Capital in May 2000, Cory spent four years as an international portfolio manager and analyst at The Principal Financial Group (Invista Capital Management), where he served on a committee that managed several international equity funds. He holds BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Iowa, and is a CFA charter holder. Jim Gendelman is the portfolio manager for the Marsico International Opportunities Fund and a co-manager of the Marsico Global Fund. Prior to joining Marsico Capital in May 2000, Jim was a Vice President of International Sales at Goldman Sachs. A former CPA with Ernst & Young, Jim holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.Doug Rao co-manages the Focus Fund and the Growth Fund with Tom Marsico and serves as portfolio manager of the Marsico Flexible Capital Fund. Prior to joining Marsico Capital in 2005, Doug spent more than four years at Trust Company of the West (TCW) where he was a Senior Vice President and Financial Services Analyst for U.S. equities. He has 10 years of experience as a securities analyst and holds a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to our portfolio managers, we employ dedicated investment and research professionals at Marsico Capital Management. Brandon Geisler joined Marsico Capital in January 2006. Brandon has nine years of experience in the financial services industry. He spent four years with Goldman, Sachs & Company, where he was a Vice President in Equity Research, covering the restaurant industry. Brandon received his MBA degree and Honours BS degree from McMaster University. Jordon Laycob is one of the founding members of Marsico Capital and has been with Marsico Capital since its inception in October 1997. He has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Marsico Capital, Jordon spent four years at Janus Capital as a fixed-income analyst and trader. Born and raised in Denver, he graduated from Emory University with a bachelor's degree in political science. Munish Malhotra, Chartered Financial Analyst, joined Marsico Capital in May 2003. Munish has more than nine years of industry experience.
