JRI, CUDA, LANDA, HYDROBLAST, KEMAC, BETTER ENGINEERING, INTERCONT & SIMILAR JET SPRAY WASHERS. These machines are built to be price competitive and are acceptable for light duty automotive-type cleaning. They are of marginal value where heavy soil removal is required in such applications as diesel and locomotive shops that must remove carbon, paint, scale, sludge and road soils. Most Jet Spray washer makers claim to provide engineered solutions to parts cleaning problems but their claims of technology are unfounded and their machines should not be considered engineered products in my view.

At MART, we look at ourselves as more than an aqueous part washer manufacturer. We enable people to get their dirty parts clean by providing a totally engineered and patented, environmentally safe aqueous cleaning process that removes soils with the hydraulic force of impact pressure augmented by soap and heat, and we provide an environmentally friendly system to dispose of the waste.

Note that in Table 2 the first set of data is for constant flow out of the nozzle. It can be seen that the impact is proportional to pressure change. Higher pressures deliver higher impacts for a given nozzle spray angle. The second set of data shows impact pressures for a constant pressure with increasing flows. Here the impact pressure for a zero degree nozzle is constant regardless of flow from the nozzle. The nozzles with spray angles greater than zero have impact pressures proportional to flow, and a higher flow has higher impact pressure.

These design parameters change the overall effectiveness of the washing machine. Poor execution of a design can result in widely varying cleaning performance from one manufacturer to the next. Be aware that the cleaning results can vary greatly from one manufacturer to another, even when both washer makers use the same horsepower pump from the same pump manufacturer.

Most people think that the chemical selection is their responsibility. If you believe this, then you are wrong. If you select the chemical you have let the washing machine manufacturer and chemical maker off the hook. If the machine doesn't meet your requirements and standards, the washer maker can always say, "The problem is the chemical." And the chemical manufacturer can always blame the machine. I suggest that you don't want a washing machine and you don't want chemicals - you want a cleaning process. You want clean parts.
