Martin/Martin has been providing structural engineering design of all sizes and types of buildings and other structures regionally, nationally and internationally for over 60 years. Founded by esteemed educator Milo Ketchum in 1945, our practice has been built around developing the professionals that work in our firm. In response to client challenges, our Principals have in turn branched out in many unique niche areas of design giving rise to the breath of our practice. With over 60 structural engineers on staff we can address projects of any scale.

Martin/Martin’s Investigative Team is part of our Structural Engineering Department and was established to focus on the evaluation and repair of existing buildings for clients such as Property Managers, Homeowners Associations, Building Owners, Architects, Attorneys, Contractors, Government entities and Insurance Agencies. Unlike most investigative engineering firms, we have experienced structural engineers who apply what they have learned from previous design projects.

Martin/Martin is committed to including sustainable and environmentally conscious design practices for all our projects. This can simply involve implementing minor modifications to traditional construction practices or material selection that are more environmentally friendly. We are also currently working with the National Park Service, National Renewable Energy Laboratory and U.S.

Martin/Martin's structural engineers are known for creativity and technical excellence. Through practical and innovative engineering design solutions, we continually strengthen our reputation as the predominant structural engineering firm in our region, and as a national leader. Consistent high quality service has lead to many long term relationships and client advocates for our firm. While maintaining our expertise in a broad range of traditional structural engineering services, we also seek opportunities outside the traditional role.

We have the extensive experience and special tools required to determine existing conditions, perform non-destructive testing and analyze the load capacity of existing structures. The Investigative Team prepares surveys, reports, cost estimates and repair documents for consultation, permitting, negotiation during bidding and construction.
