Our company name serves well as a basic description of our purpose. MEE, as we are often called, was founded in 1995 to fill a local need for an independent, high-quality materials characterization laboratory for advanced materials and critical components.

Failure analysis and advanced research projects are directed by registered professional engineers. These engineers specialize in the behavior of materials and how their structure affects service performance. Comprehensive reports combine reliable analytical data with a sound engineering perspective to provide practical, cost-effective solutions to our customers.

The Handbook of Analytical Methods for Materials (HAMM) is a brief tutorial on techniques for materials characterization. The HAMM is intended to provide our visitors with enough information on a technique to determine whether it has the potential to help solve a materials problem. We hope that this information can be used by our customers and other visitors to this site to formulate plans for evaluation of problems under investigation and to better understand data that they may obtain.

MEE also has comprehensive analytical laboratory capabilities to bring to bear for failure analysis projects. We provide a wide array of traditional and advanced analytical methods, including light and electron microscopy, surface chemical analysis, and a variety of mechanical and physical properties analyses. The engineers and scientists at MEE have a wide range of experience in analyzing failures of metal and polymer components. Our analysts understand how materials behave in structural applications and in damaging environments. Although the focus at MEE is on materials and their behavior, multidisciplinary engineering evaluations are performed through our affiliation with a variety of other skilled engineering experts as needed.
