With over thirty years of diversified design and project management experience, Jim is an active principal directly responsible for each of the firm’s projects. He has extensive experience in corporate, commercial, cultural, educational, retail and institutional design.

MAI is a multi-faceted design firm focused on providing creative solutions for our clients. Architecture is what we do, partnering with our clients to design pleasing structures made to suit their needs and maximize their budgets. Out of the ground solutions, additions or renovations, we bring to each project a commitment to the client to provide thoughtful answers to the questions they pose. Our extensive experience (100+ years for our senior design team alone) across a variety of markets enables us to offer perspectives on each project cross-pollinated by the related markets we serve.

Open. Bright. Contemporary. To establish an identity for their newly formed business entity, our client wanted their new offices to take a different approach from their parent company's traditional workplace; a less formal, more open and collaborative space with a clean, modern appeal. Coming from a company noted for award-winning workplaces (Workplace Dynamics' 2013 "Top 150 Workplaces in America") that tradition needed to continue.

USLI has been a long-time tenant in the Liberty Property Trust building at 190 Warner Road in Wayne, PA. MAI has worked with USLI since they moved to the second floor of that building in 1998. Since then, MAI has been responsible for planning and facilities design as the company grew to occupy the full 87,500 square foot building in 2009. At that point, MAI assisted USLI and Liberty Property Trust (LPT) in planning a new 75,000 square foot addition to accommodate USLI’s unique program requirements as well as Liberty Property Trust’s long term real estate investment objectives.

Education facilities are demanding. They need to work hard and play hard, accommodate large crowds and individual instruction. Working with administrators and stakeholders to provide that diversity, MAI is proud to be able to assist educational institutions with developing new or enhancing existing facilities to best support their school's missions. From master planning through construction and beyond, MAI teams with our school clients to find creative solutions for the challenges their facilities present.
