Ben Meadows President D. B. "Ben" Meadows left the Air Force, as a Major, in 1946 and moved to New York City to sell oil field equipment to major oil companies. In July of 1949 he moved to Harlingen, Texas where he joined his father working for Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company. In 1950 Jefferson-Pilot transferred Ben to Corpus Christi as a District Manager, where he was later appointed Branch Manager. He retired as the Manager in 1980, became an agent with the company and has been going strong ever since. In addition to Jefferson-Pilot Financial and First Colony Life Insurance Company, Ben is an agent for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, which provides group and individual health coverage and has been appointed to sell their Medicare Supplement Policy.
