MEDIA TECHNOLOGY was founded in December 1991 to provide roll paper products for use with Delphax Page Printers. In November 1993, the company moved to a new facility and expanded the converting operation to include 50-inch diameter slitting and rewinding capabilities.MEDIA TECHNOLOGY soon gained a reputation for converting mill-quality roll products. This led to requests for converting other types of products and the company expanded again in July 1994. Another master roll slitter/rewinder was added, along with two sheeters and two large guillotines. Equipment for Folding Cartons, Diecutting, Folding and Gluing, and Windowing, was added in 2005. The building will expand again in the third quarter of 2005.MEDIA TECHNOLOGY now converts a wide range of premium paper stocks and packaging products. In addition to the Delphax Ion Deposition (EBI) Roll Paper, they convert a full line of Engineering Roll Paper for use with plotter/copiers. Chipboard is converted into dozens of custom sizes for printers chip and various packaging and art applications. Gypsum is used to convert Brick Divider Sheets, an application requiring moisture retention and between-layer cushion. Plybar, an asphalt coated, fiber reinforced Kraft stock is converted into rolls used as new construction door and window flashing. Plybar is also used as an under-slab concrete moisture barrier. Claycote has many uses, including color-printed Folding Cartons. The applications for Natural Kraft roll and sheet products are endless for packaging and art projects.
