About Mark Keller First I fell in love with India. My love affair with Indian stones and jewelry came later, after many travels and a series of inner and outer adventures, that finally led me, in the end, to a small room at the end of a back alley, next to the back end of a family cow, where a man sitting on a rug was studying my palm with great seriousness. He was pleased with what he saw: he and I could do the stone business together, and that I had the proper disposition to deal with Sapphires. The Sapphire, he explained gravely, was the most difficult of stones, and if a man were not properly attuned to it, it would throw him a bad fate.
