Our firm was founded in 1862 by The Honorable Woodbury L. Melcher, a resident of Laconia and treasurer and president of the Laconia Savings Bank. Rapid growth of the firm led to a merger with the business of True E. Prescott in 1886, which formed the Melcher & Prescott Agency.
