Sam Hirbod, President Sam Hirbod, President of Pacific Convenience & Fuels, opened his first gas station in 1997 in California. That Beacon station was the start of Bedrock Oil, Incorporated, which at its pinnacle, operated more than 40 gas stations and convenience stores in California and Washington. Joining with other associates, Sam formed PetroSun West, LLC and purchased 95 stores in Oregon, Washington and Nevada from Time Oil Company in 2007. Sam later led the company through the purchase of the remaining retail assets from ConocoPhillips. Sam continues to lead the Pacific Convenience & Fuels team toward new and exciting times. Leveraging the support of major brand partners, PC&F continues to work on aggressive growth, through new acquisitions or an enhancement of existing assets. Sam attended San Francisco State University and U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business. Daniel Engel, Chief Financial Officer Daniel is responsible for strategic planning, finance, accounting and IT. Daniel, a CPA with an MBA degree, has over 30 years experience in financial, operational and IT management. His consulting and financial experience for multi-national companies, including PriceWaterhouseCoopers and ampm gives him a strong foundation in accounting and operations. Daniel has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College and a MBA in Finance from California State University, Northridge. John Barbour, General Manager John is the General Manager for Retail Services and manages Credit Cards, Real Estate, Maintenance, Compliance and Construction for PC&F. John’s background includes 15 years at Conoco where he held a variety of Marketing and Operations management positions, 7 years at Citigroup where he ran private label credit card programs for ConocoPhillips and Shell and 3 years at MasterCard, which included both retailer and issuer responsibility. John has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University. Charlene Kovacsik, Director of Marketing Charlene leads all of our marketing and merchandising initiatives, including strategic partnerships and category management. Charlene joined PC&F from Circle K, where she spent the last 17 years successfully leading franchise, marketing, and operations teams. Charlene’s experience in both the operations and marketing side of the business gives her comprehensive knowledge to ensure solid execution for all marketing programs. Charlene has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University. Chris Wilson, Division Manager, California As Division Manager, Chris is responsible for overall store performance in California company operated stores and fee operated stores. Chris comes to PC&F from Circle K where he started as a District Manager Trainee, moving to Sales Manager, Category Marketing Manager, Retail Operations Director and Director of Marketing. His well-rounded convenience store experience is an asset to PC&F. Chris attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration. Jeff Smith, Division Manager, Pacific Northwest & Colorado As Division Manager, Jeff is responsible for overall store performance in Washington, Oregon and Colorado company operated stores and fee operated stores. Jeff joined PC&F during the acquisition of the ConocoPhillips retail assets. With 23 years experience in the convenience store industry, he has held positions with increasing levels of responsibility including merchandising, franchising and operations. Jeff has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Washington State University.
