The objective of the MVP Funds is to make equity investments in growing later-stage companies as well as to provide equity financing for acquisitions and recapitalizations. MVP portfolio companies represent diverse industries, including aviation, publishing, media, specialty retailing, manufacturing, healthcare, and software.Both MVP and MVP II are Small Business Investment Companies (SBIC's) licensed by the SBA. MVP is capitalized with $55 million of capital, and is fully invested. MVP II is capitalized with over $150 million of capital and is currently being actively invested.Meridian Venture Partners looks for investments primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. We have, however, invested outside the region on a number of occasions, and would do so again for the right opportunity.
