In 2006, Whole Earth Sweetener Company LLC was born as a wholly owned subsidiary of Merisant Company focusing on all-natural sweeteners. In 2007, the first all-natural sweetener brand, Sweet Simplicity® was launched followed by Pure Via® Stevia (2008) and Whole Earth Sweetener Co™ Sugars (2012).

The California Transparency in Supply Chain Act of 2010 (SB 657) requires large retailers and manufacturers doing business in California to disclose their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their direct supply chains for tangible goods offered for sale.

All of the ingredients used to manufacture Merisant's products have been processed using skilled and semi-skilled labor in sophisticated production facilities that are often located in countries where substantive labor and health and safety laws exist and are enforced. Merisant's suppliers are by contract required to comply with all applicable laws.
