Roofing - A Merlo family tradition... Merlo Brothers Roofing was established in 1984 by Vincent J Merlo Jr. Vince's family has been in roofing since the 1940's, his grandfather started his business then, and upon his death it was passed on to Vince's father who still runs the business today with his brothers. After many summers and weekends of working for his father, Vince decided to pursue a different path and joined the U.S. Air Force. During his six years in the military Vince got married, traveled throughout the country, visited Thailand and lived in England. While stationed in Utah and England he attended Weber State College and the University of Maryland. After leaving the Air Force he lived in Saudi Arabia for three years working for the Saudi Airlines. It was during this time that Vince started to miss Maryland, wanted his children to go to school in the USA, and actually started to miss the family business. With his father's prodding and help, he came back home in 1984 and opened his business - Merlo Brothers Roofing Incorporated Since starting our business, we have strived to stay on the cutting edge of roofing developments. As such we belong to several trade associations and have been recognized as an authorized applicator for GAF roofing systems. Our employees are second to none. They annually attend training seminars for roofing installations and safety, and are tested and certified GAF installers. Our employees have a deep loyalty to our customers and to the company. We have employees that have been with us from the start in 1984, the rest average 10-12 years. The roofing industry is constantly changing and we at Merlo Brothers Roofing are committed to supplying our customers with the most up-to-date products available. Vince's grandfather would hardly recognize the industry today, with new technologies and the electronic revolution. But one thing remains the same, we're nothing without our customers. To that end we are committed to customer satisfaction. I think grandpop would be pleased!
