Membership is available to public school districts, community colleges and universities. As Metro Bureau members, districts can take advantage of all Metro Bureau services including salary/benefits reports and attendance at workshops and conferences on a preferential basis. Currently. the annual membership cost is $1,100 per institution plus 23 ¢ per pupil from the previous year's official enrollment count. The maximum school district membership fee is $3,450. Why should our school district join the Metro Bureau? You really can't afford not to join the Bureau. Our dues are extremely reasonable. They haven't been increased in ten years! Our web services are unmatched anywhere. The Metro Bureau has a survey process that will get answers to your most perplexing concerns in a matter of hours. Our data is unmatched anywhere in the State of Michigan or in the mid-west for that matter. That data is available through our web page, as is our contract search engine that gives you full access to participating district contracts through an amazing key-word search process. Other organizations charge for this service. At the Bureau it is part of the membership service. At a time when the foundation grant increases are lagging and the budget is getting tight, you need the Bureau to help you develop strategies for saving money through consortia purchasing and strategic budgeting. We have budget and negotiation specialists on our staff who are experienced and able to provide that extra edge for you at no additional cost. And don't forget ... if you need legal advice, counseling or assistance, the Executive Director, Tom McLennan is available on a 24 hour basis.
