We provide timely and accurate professional opinions of value for a wide variety of complex residential and commercial assignments. Our appraisers are competent to provide form or narrative reports to the standards required by FNMA, FHA, VA, the IRS, and the Colorado courts. Our clients include banks, mortgage companies, the Department of Transportation, RTD, cities, special districts, redevelopment authorities, attorneys, Realtors and private parties. In addition to the more typical requests we can also appraise your “high balance” residential property, vacant residential or commercial land, provide subdivision analysis (residential & commercial) as well as value residential acreages.

Michael (Mike) McCarthy is a Colorado Certified Residential appraiser who began appraising residential properties in the Denver Metro area in 1981. He has been with Metropolitan Appraisers, Inc. since 1991 and is currently on the FHA Fee Panel Roster. Prior employers include the Jefferson County Assessor as well as other appraisal firms. Mike is well qualified to complete appraisal reports for all types of residential properties including multi-family dwellings and vacant building lots. He also has considerable experience in new construction projects, using plans and specifications to develop market value. While he primarily appraises properties in the 6 county metro area, Mike also has expertise in several close-in areas such as Morrison, Evergreen and Conifer. He holds a current State license and is covered by the firm’s Errors and Omissions insurance policy.

Ken Harman, SRA is the founder and president of Metropolitan Appraisers, Inc., a 33-year-old appraisal company, appraising residential and commercial real property. The company employs 7 full-time appraisers and three support staff. Mr. Harman attended the University of Colorado. He began appraising in the mid-1970's and obtained the SRA designation from the former Society of Real Estate Appraisers in the mid-1980's. Currently, he is an SRA member of the Appraisal Institute, the Denver Board of Realtors, a member of the VA appraiser panel, a developer of residential properties and vacant land, and is active in the building community. Mr. Harman has participated in presenting seminars for various mortgage banking entities, including "Underwriting the Appraisal", "Understanding the Appraisal Process", "Appraising for the Processor", "Understanding the URAR Form", as well as other programs. He assisted in writing the FHA/HUD appraisal manual in the mid-1980's and maintains contact with the various agencies to remain aware of current regulations. Mr.

Robert Harman, SRA , has worked with Metropolitan Appraisers since 1982. He is licensed by the State of Colorado as a Certified General Appraiser and earned his SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1993. Prior to beginning his career in real estate appraisal, Mr. Harman worked as a financial analyst for Beatrice Companies and as a financial consultant for a national accounting firm. Mr. Harman earned a BSBA and MBA from the University of Denver. He has been on the appraiser roster for the Veterans Administration since 1993. In addition to management responsibilities for Metropolitan Appraisers, Mr. Harman has expertise in the valuation of residential and commercial properties, including subdivisions, apartments, retail and industrial. Assignments have been completed for purposes of mortgage lending, estate planning and eminent domain.
