Where feasible, we will turn off inside lights and use natural sunlight. We will adjust our thermostats so that we are not over heating or over cooling our office. We will use email and other electronic message methods to do interoffice communications and to communicate with customers where possible. We will use Notepad (installed on all Windows computers) or other software to keep notes and use paper sparingly and only when necessary. LEVEL 3: What to Buy ∙ Buy Recycled Products ∙ Buy Energy Efficient Lights ∙ Buy Energy Star Equipment ∙ Buy Fuel Efficient Vehicles Our office will begin buying environmentally friendlier products. We will NOT replace things that are still useful, unless it is cost effective to do so (we understand that using up a less efficient product is often better for the environment because of pollution caused by disposal of old products and manufacture of new ones). However, as we need to buy products, we will look for products that are fully recycled first or partially recycled second. We will install energy efficient light bulbs, buy Energy Star equipment (uses less electricity) and purchase the most fuel efficient vehicles available to us within our budget and operating parameters.
