For over 20 years Healthcare Design has been a premiere expertise of MHA works Our healthcare studio has designed versions of each specialty in both private clinic and hospital settings, as stand-alone facilities and as complex renovations of major hospitals. As experts in healthcare design, we capitalize on the unique challenges of planning for clinics, hospitals and centers. Some of these considerations include attention to existing conditions, phasing while the building is still in use, fundraising and marketing through signage, and user group and stakeholder consensus.

We have been fortunate enough to support and work with the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill for over 15 years, having designed the original Support Facility and its first expansion, and we are so excited to begin the construction on the 24,000 sf expansion to their facility.

Our experience in the design of high technology industrial facilities began with just a single client over 10 years ago. We are fortunate to still serve that client today, which is not an easy feat while working in complex campus settings, because we continue to be responsive and available at all times. In the last five years, MHA works has completed over fifty projects for many of the most successful Science and Technology companies in the region. Our team oriented approach strives to treat each client and project with individual focus.

MHA works is a commercial architecture firm serving clients in the Carolinas and Virginia from offices in Durham and Greenville, North Carolina. Founded in 1988 by Michael J. Hining, AIA, the firm has a staff of 35 professionals providing architecture, interior design and planning.
