Description

Midwest Archaeological Consultants is owned and operated by Randy Dickson, a registered professional archaeologist with 20 years of experience specializing in archaeology and historic preservation in the Midwest. Midwest Archaeological Consultants provides cultural resource review and compliance processes to federal, state and private agencies required to comply with historic preservation regulatory requirements. The services of Midwest Archaeological Consultants include: archaeological assessment, site testing and mitigation, cultural heritage conservation, site interpretation and development. Midwest Archaeological Consultants conducts archaeological compliance for all state, private and federal agencies and specializes in telecommunication projects such as cellular tower compliance (FCC). Midwest Archaeological Consultants completes approximately 100 telecommunication projects per year throughout the United States in accordance with the FCC Nationwide Programmatic Agreement for cell towers. Midwest Archaeological Consultants will accept projects of any size and scope. On smaller projects such as cellular tower archaeological compliance, reports are customarily completed and submitted to clients within the same week that the fieldwork is completed. Midwest Archaeological Consultants is certified by the DNR to perform wetland delineations. Twenty years of experience conducting archaeological investigations throughout the Midwest have made us acutely aware of the scheduling and time frame problems encountered while attempting to complete projects. Midwest Archaeological Consultants conducts archaeological investigations ethically and efficiently, enabling its clients to successfully fulfill their respective project goals. Midwest Archaeological Consultants also conducts Post Construction Reviews of existing cell towers that are not compliant with Section 106, throughout the entire United States. The process for bringing existing cell towers into compliance does not go through the usual SHPO review. Instead the compliance process goes directly through the FCC and usually takes longer than the normal SHPO review. It is recommended that Post Construction Reviews start as early as possible due to the longer time frame of the review process.
